About
In 2002, after 12 years of going to school part-time, I earned my BA in Art, with a concentration in fiber and fabric art, at California State University Northridge. But being a fiber artist was hereditary. Some of my earliest memories are my mother sewing. My grandmother knitted and crocheted, and taught me to crochet.
I learned to sew in middle school, in the time when all girls (and only girls) took Home Ec, and their first project was a skirt. I sewed constantly all through middle and high school. I attended fashion design school at Los Angeles Trade Technical College, worked as a patternmaker in the garment industry and taught at Otis College of Art and Design.
