10 Degrees South

Crochet Globe Day 3

Made very good progress today. I left off at about 10° South latitude. The next round or two will be the equator.

I’m using double crochet stitches for most of the work, with some half double crochet and single crochet to help make the shapes of the land masses. The large land masses are looking pretty good.
I’m a little concerned about Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands, so I’ve switched to single crochet in that area as I’m finishing Australia. New Zealand is made of two stitches, Madagascar is five, and Tasmania is just one stitch.
Hawaii is on this globe, and naturally I want to have it there. It may not be to scale when it’s done.
